A Cleaner World (Un monde plus propre)

Documentary about a strike of cleaning workers on the Paris Metro in 1998.

This moving film shows a recording of a long strike assembly. Migrant cleaning workers discuss whether to use violence against the scabs or not.

The long debate among the workers and with the attendant lawyer gives a good insight into the workers' daily life and working conditions - shaped by colonialism, racism, and exploitation. They explain their position in and towards society and the importance and effects of their recurrent labour struggles, as well as their discouragement.
