Day of action at a Jobcenter in Berlin

Nobody has to go to the Jobcenter alone - Under this slogan people from various political and social initiatives came together on March 5, 2009. They offered to accompany the claimants to their meetings with their case handlers. They drew attention to the fact that such an act makes sense in order to counter the harassment, and that any person can accompany anybody. In a 'corner for complaints', recipients of Hartz IV could document their bad experiences with the administration.

Accompanying claimants in solidarity in Jobcenters has already been done a lot in Cologne and is known there as "payday". The action was also meant as a mobilization for the big demonstration "We are not paying for your crisis!" on March 28, 2009, in Berlin and Frankfurt (Main). The speech in the video-clip was given by Roman from the unemployed initiative ALSO in Oldenburg.
