Strike wave in Greece

Film about the strike wave in Greece in late 2011.

"They want to make Greece an enormous economic zone (...) with wages being 300 - 400 euros (a month)." - Activists explain how the austerity policies in Greece have served to drastically reduce wages. These massive attacks on the country's working class led to a wave of strikes and protests and to new, informal and spontaneous forms of self-organized solidarity.

The film visits the striking steel workers of Halyvourgia Ellados, the occupied TV-station AlterTV and striking hospital workers.

Several others films on recent struggles in Greece can be seen on Reelnews website (a dvd is also available).
