Our right to decent work

Cairo 2012 - Sit-in strike at a factory of the company Bticino-Legrand in Cairo. The workers talk about their working conditions and struggles.

"We have overcome a corrupt government system - now we have to overcome the same system in the factory", says a female worker. The general perception is, that after the Egyptian Revolution the workers dared to speak up for the first time.

The workers protest against the starvation wages, the shift system, and the limited contracts. They demand a reform of the laws that favour investors.
