White Village

Film about the struggle of nurses in Poland in 2007

"The strikes of the Polish nurses have made a great stir in Poland and the union left in Europe. The wider public of the social movements has not taken much notice, though. The besiegement of the Polish parliament by a protest-camp („White Village“) without the support of the big union federations in 2007 earned them the sympathy of the population and the solidarity of the militant union wing –  and it has put them to the forefront of the social struggles in Poland in the past years."  (Norbert Kollenda)
