Lawyer Rupay Dahm represents workers who work for 36 Stage XL. The problem is that the colleagues are only employed on a daily basis, despite the fact that they work for Stage XL again and again. As a result, they are not covered by social security on a permanent basis, have no paid holidays and never know how much money they will have at the end of the month. - "Labour relations like in the old days of the empire," as Dahm puts it: "From our point of view, this is an institutional abuse of the law."
Similar conditions also apply to food couriers in Berlin.
The workers at 36 Stage XL have formed a works group and, with the support of the FAU grassroots union, are fighting for permanent employment contracts and more job security.
