A Tool For Workers' Struggles - Base Union SUDD Cobas in Prato

October 25, 2025 - We visited comrades from the grassroots union SUDD Cobas in Prato. SUDD Cobas has been in existence since 2018. In the textile district of Prato in northern Italy, workers are fighting against having to work 12 hours a day, 6-7 days a week. Between March and August 2025 alone, workers staged 80 strikes to enforce the 8-hour day and 5-day week.

Currently, only the workers at the L'Alba ironing factory are on strike. We spoke with three of them and a comrade from the union.
